COSTUME DESIGNER,
WARDROBE STYLIST,
DRAPER/TAILOR
BASED IN LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY

I have always known that I wanted a career in the entertainment industry, but it was not until I began working as an student assistant in the costume shop at Western Carolina University that I realized what an incredible part of storytelling that costuming is. I loved seeing a designer's vision come together through the process of rendering, production, fittings and performance. After earning a bachelor of art in stage & screen and a bachelor of science in communication from WCU, I completed a master of fine art in costume design and technology at the University of South Carolina.

During summers between my graduate school years, I was the costume shop manager at Dorset Theatre Festival in Dorset, Vermont. I worked closely with prolific designers, directors, and writers to coordinate costumes for new plays and classic revivals. Upon completing my MFA, I began working in the film industry, first as a tailor and then as a designer. I have worked on projects up and down the east coast for the likes of the Hallmark Channel, Lifetime, HBO and many independent productions.
I thrive on the ever-changing demands of costuming, from scouring thrift stores for the perfect vintage t-shirt to draping a 17th century ballgown. I'm passionate about crafting costumes that feel so true to the character, they blend seamlessly into the world of the production. I believe in the beauty of collaboration of voices from all backgrounds, cultivating a welcoming workspace for diverse thought, and training the next generation of industry professionals to bring their best to the work. To quote one of my early mentors, Susan Brown-Strauss, "our job is to make you look awfully wonderful, and wonderfully awful!"
